Though we wonât go inside on this walking tour, itâs worth pausing here at Prinsengracht #267. This was the office of Anne Frankâs father, Otto, who ran a spice business. It was here that eight Amsterdam Jews hid from Nazi persecution, including 13-year-old Anne Frank. The familyâs hiding place was way in the back part of the buildingâmaking this the worldâs best-known actherhuis (back house). ( See the Anne Frank House Tour chapter.)
